Founded in 1957, the New Jersey Interscholastic Ice Hockey League (NJIIHL) stands as the cornerstone of high school hockey in the Garden State. As the state’s oldest and largest league, we are proud to host 49 teams across 7 conferences, including the renowned Gordon Conference—the premier stage for New Jersey’s most elite high school programs.

What began as a fledgling five-team league—then known as the North Jersey Scholastic Hockey League—has grown into the state's oldest and largest athletic organization dedicated to the sport.

The NJIIHL Welcomes Two New Teams

The NJIIHL is proud to welcome two new teams for the upcoming season: Watchung Hills and Glen Rock/Ridgewood.

Watchung Hills will field a Boys team and will compete in the McMullen Conference, bringing another talented program to one of the league's most competitive divisions.

Glen Rock/Ridgewood joins the NJIIHL as a Girls Co-Op team and will compete in the Annis Conference, further strengthening the continued growth of girls' high school hockey in New Jersey.

The NJIIHL is excited to welcome Watchung Hills and Glen Rock/Ridgewood to the league. We look forward to seeing both teams compete this season and are proud to have them join the growing tradition of high school hockey in New Jersey.
